As November has drawn to a close, it’s time once again to delve into my portfolio review. It was a busy month at work so I have had quite minimal amount of time to spend on this blog or investing in the general. But let’s reflect a bit.
Dividends keep on coming!
It’s fun to own monthly paying companies e.g. Realty Income and Agree Realty. Those companies let me write this part every month! Next month there will be more companies 😉
Company | Ticker | Dividend | Dividend in € |
---|---|---|---|
Realty Income | O | $3.91 | 3.59€ |
Agree Realty Corporation | ADC | $0.99 | 0.91€ |
Total | 4.50€ |
Purchases
Okay, let’s see what companies I decided to purchase.
Date | Company | Ticker | # Shares | Price per Share | Total Price | Total Price (€) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
16 Nov 2023 | Johnson & Johnson | JNJ | 2 | $149.00 | $298 | 273.39€ |
24 Nov 2023 | British American Tobacco | BATS | 13 | 2550GBX | 33150GBX | 295.03€ |
28 Nov 2023 | Realty Income | O | 5 | $54.30 | $271.50 | 249.08€ |
Total | 817.50€ |
Johnson & Johnson
Johnson & Johnson is one of the most loved dividend stocks among dividend growth investors. It’s a healthcare company with a quarterly dividend of $1.19. They have been raising their dividends each year for 61 years now. The starting yield for my positions is around 3%.
Johnson & Johnson is the largest health care company in the world. Therefore I think this will certainly sustain its run in the future as well. They have a diversified portfolio of products and services. I need to also take a deeper look into this. Though now, I’m happy to that I’m on board!
British American Tobacco
British American Tobacco is a bit controversial for me. I don’t smoke and I don’t intend to do it. I wouldn’t want my close ones to smoke. It’s just an unhealthy habit that does nothing good for you. I even hate it when people are smoking in the streets and I have to be following them. Well, on the other hand, if I need to be inhaling smoke passively, I might as well profit for these poor bastards killing themselves slowly.
BATS (which is awesome ticker symbol btw) is focusing more and more on less unhealthy options such as vapes. Regular combustion cigarettes are being in lower and lower demand, so the focus change is a good thing. Although I don’t really think vapes are that much healthier for you anyways. But tobacco won’t just disappear overnight. It will take most likely decades for that to happen so I jumped on board.
In December, this seems to have been a bad call as stock has went done quite a bit on some news…
Realty Income
O-O-Oh! It’ Realty Income time! It’s gonna be one of my backbones in the portfolio and making sure I have income every month. So, I naturally added a few shares (5 pcs) in November as well. I put my buy orders a bit lower than the ask price was, and then the price went up a couple dollars. After some time, I just decided to pull the trigger at the asking price and got my shares. It’s probably better for me to buy immediately rather than waiting for a ‘better price’.
Portfolio after November 2023
And here is the portfolio at the end of November 2023:

Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize | 14 | 407.36€ | 371.84€ | -35.52€ (-8.72%) | 9.55% |
Johnson & Johnson | 2 | 273.39€ | 283.78€ | 10.39€ (3.80%) | 7.29% |
T Rowe Price Group | 3 | 249.80€ | 275.59€ | 25.79€ (10.32%) | 7.08% |
Lemonade | 18 | 252.20€ | 291.80€ | 39.60€ (15.70%) | 7.50% |
Agree Realty | 4 | 207.84€ | 217.28€ | 9.44€ (4.54%) | 5.58% |
Coca Cola | 4 | 205.57€ | 214.46€ | 8.89€ (4.32%) | 5.51% |
Total | 104 | 3876.21€ | 3893.08€ | 16.87€ (0.43%) | 100.00% |
At the end of November I was up/down 16.87€ or around 0.43% on my invested capital. That’s now positive compared to last month’s -273€ or around -9%.
In November I received 4.50€ in dividends. That is cumulatively 4.50€ + 7.42€ = 11.92€.
And that’s it for this time. I’ll try to keep on posting semi-regularly to keep myself accountable.
